Have you ever stood in the store, looking at something you want, knowing deep down it doesn’t fit your plan? In that moment, it’s not the price tag you’re fighting—it’s your emotions. It’s impulse. It’s the urge to escape stress, loneliness, pressure, or comparison.

But here’s the truth: some of us aren’t spending money—we’re spending our future.

“Don’t get tricked into spending money you need next week and beyond. Stop. Check your emotions. Do whatever you need to today to protect your future money.”

I beat this spirit because I am not trying to keep up with some fictitious Jones.

I am fighting to win against myself. I have a plan—and I am sticking with it.

Before spending, ask:

Emotion What am I really feeling?

Timing Do I need this right now?

Purpose Does this align with my plan?

Impact Will this move me forward—or set me back?

Every purchase is a decision about your future. The question is: Will you protect it—or trade it for a moment?
